At Boulderz, we have a lot going on behind the scenes as we prepare for opening in the new normal. We have put all of our efforts together to create a space and set of policies that conforms to all laws and meets or exceeds requirements from Public Health. Our priority is the safety and health of our staff and customers. Some of the changes will include:
Time-slot reservations to limit the number of people in the facility at one time and still be able to provide an awesome and reliable climbing solution while being socially distant.
Clear physical distancing markers throughout each facility. Both locations will have a greatly reduced number of climbers permitted at one time in each reservation slot.
Keeping windows and doors open to increase fresh air supply. Reduction, elimination and scheduled cleaning of common traffic areas within the facility.
Reminding and encouraging climbers about proper hand hygiene, upon entry, during climbing and upon leaving. Best wishes to everyone during this difficult time – please take care of each other the best way you know how.
During our closure, the owners of Ontario climbing gyms (The Ontario Climbing Gym Operators Group) have been sharing ideas and support about what reopening will look like in a way that supports our staff and our climbers and keeps everyone as safe as possible during this global pandemic. We also have a National COVID task force (climbing specific, spearheaded by the CEC ) that has issued guidelines for climbing gyms to follow.
Based on the Ontario government’s announced Phase I of the framework for closed businesses to begin to reopen, and subsequent follow-up with government authorities , we will reopen with new policies in place (including maintaining social distancing).
Once we are ready with an open date we will let you know. Please be patient with us! And finally, thank you very much to the Boulderz community for your support and understanding during this shutdown. We look forward to climbing with you again.
