Boulderz Youth Team – 2012/2013 Season in review

It’s hard to say where to start!

As parents there is nothing more rewarding than to see your child beaming with joy from success and accomplishment. The Boulderz Youth Climbing Team has seen improvement in many of our athletes during training sessions and individual performances, listed below are those who have made podium finishes Provincially, Regionally, Nationally, Cup winners and those have earned a World level ranking. There are 10 Cups awarded Provincially and Nationally, Boulderz Team members hold 5 Provincially and 4 Nationally. This level of accomplishment is only made possible with a team of passionate, dedicated climbers as well as committed coaching sensibility that is pragmatic and fueled by love of the sport, and excellent sportsmanship.

Junior Female (age 18-19)

Iyma Lamarche: 1^st Provincial Bouldering and Difficulty Championships, 1^st Regional Difficulty Championships, 1^st National Difficulty Championships, Canada Cup and Ontario Cup recipient, Ranks 10^th Youth World Climbing Championships and top youth Canadian overall, Canadian National Team Member for 4 years.

Youth B Male (age 14-15)

Lucas Uchida: 1^st Provincial Bouldering and Difficulty Championships, 1^st Regional Difficulty Championships, 1^st National Difficulty Championships, Canada Cup and Ontario Cup recipient, Ranks 11^th Youth World Climbing Championships and top youth Canadian Climber in his division, joined the Canadian National Team in 2013.

Youth A Male (age 16-17)

Nathan Smith: 1^st Provincial Bouldering and Difficulty Championships, 1^st Regional Difficulty Championships, Ontario Cup recipient, Ranks 35^th Youth World Climbing Championships and is the top youth Canadian Climber in his division, joined the Canadian National Team in 2013.

Junior Male (age 18-19)

Will Goodwin: 1^st (tie) Ontario Cup, 2^nd Ontario Bouldering Championships, 2^nd Ontario Difficulty Championships

Youth B Girls (age 14-15)

Mika Mercey: 3^rd Ontario Difficulty Championships.

Youth C Girls (age 12-13)

Estella Lamarche-Dykeman: 3^rdCanadian National Difficulty Championships
