WAIVERS

All guests must read and sign a waiver. Waivers are not always kept on file, please be prepared to fill out a new waiver if necessary. All waivers expire after 1 year.

BOULDERZ RULEZ

1. All participants must have a completed waiver

2. Check IN and Check OUT at the front desk.

3. NO BARE FEET in the gym at all times. Always wear sandals, shoes or socks when not climbing.

4. When not climbing, please stay off the white landing mats.

5. STOP and LOOK before walking through archways.

6. DOWNCLIMB whenever possible. If you top out, use the ladder or slide in order to get down.

7. Always display your BELAY TAGS. If you don’t have one please see one of our staff for more information about lessons and belay tests. Only Boulderz Climbing Centre instructors may teach at our facility.

8. Anyone under 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • (a) 1 non-climbing adult with up to 3 children
  • (b) 1 climbing adult with up to 2 children

9. No spectators (unless the participant is under 14 years old or a belayer is required)

10. ALL food and drink must be consumed in our dining area (except for water)

11. No Water Fountain (bottle refill station available)
12. All bad attitudes left at the door, only acceptable problems are on the wall.
13. Do not come in if you are unwell. Abide by public health requirements
Our climbers and staff safety is our top priority, we are following all Government Regulations.

 

NEW TO CLIMBING

We offer both roped climbing and bouldering for all levels. Fun and fitness are the main purpose for beginners. Bouldering is the most efficient way to learn climbing technique and increase power and stamina and it’s FUN!!!

BRINGING KIDS?

If you are bringing children to Boulderz, all waivers must be signed and completed by each child’s own parent.

If a child under the age of 14 they must be directly supervised by an adult (max ratio 1 adult to 3 children) at all times when in the facility.

This does not apply to children participating in our youth programs. In this case, when your child’s lesson is over they must be picked up immediately. See Youth Programs.

BEGINNER ADULT

Many adults want to workout but don’t want to go to a traditional gym. Rock climbing is a great way to stay active, fit and strong as well as provide social interaction. You can participate in structured comprehensive instructed classes or you may start on your own with minimal direction.

BEGINNER YOUTH

We’ve got various programs for youth, from drop-in to weekly recreational programs, to a simple day pass and equipment rental, or a 2 hour instructional Group Belay. Our knowledgeable staff will introduce and reinforce rock climbing safety, skills and technique. Your child will be getting fit and having fun. We offer bouldering (climbing lower structures protected by a soft gymnastics style landing pads), and roped climbing where they are harnessed in (both autobelay, standard belay and lead climbing). If you choose to join us for a drop-in or simply on a day pass program all children under the ages 14 must be directly supervised by an adult.  See Youth Programs.

NEW TO BOULDERZ

Our facility comes fully equipped with a variety of climbing wall angles and a wide range of grade levels. We also invest in a variety of training apparatus so that you can get a complete workout to complement your session.

FACILITY ORIENTATION

Our video will get all new visitors ready to climb with a facility orientation, making sure they know the gym rules, what to expect, and where everything is located within the facility.

GYM POLICIES

Notice to Participants: Each person entering these areas for the purpose of participating in any program must be a registered participant or an authorized guest. Boulderz Climbing Centre has the authority to revoke or suspend rights and privileges when offending behaviour is exhibited. Offending behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

  • Disorderly conduct
  • Disruptive behavior
  • Persistent disregard of facility rules
  • Default in payment of program fees

Safety & Risks

All participants are expected to recognize and accept the risks inherent in their activity. Part of the risk involved in undertaking any activity or program is relative to the participant’s own state of health (physical, mental or emotional) and the awareness, care and skill with which the participant conducts himself or herself in that activity or program. The specific risks vary from one activity to another. All participation in programs and services is voluntary and each participant knowingly assumes all risks associated with his or her own participation. IN CASE OF PERSONAL INJURY OR ACCIDENT, CONTACT A STAFF PERSON IMMEDIATELY. For life threatening circumstances contact 911 directly.

Privacy Notice

Boulderz Climbing Centre respects your privacy. Personal information that you provide is collected for the purpose of administering registration, programs, member activities, safety and financial operations. At all times, it will be protected in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Cancellations

Classes are occasionally cancelled on holidays or because of special events.

Program Cancellation and Low Enrollment

Boulderz reserves the right to cancel a program due to low enrollment. Classes may be combined if enrollment is low.

Allergies and Medical Conditions

WE ARE NOT A NUT FREE FACILITY, however to reduce risk, do not send your child to the facility with snacks containing nut products. If your child has allergies or any medical condition that we should be aware of, please let us know at the time of registration. Please also speak with your child’s instructor about any conditions that could impact your child’s safety. In the event of an emergency, we will make every attempt to contact the parent(s) or guardian(s) listed on the account. If we are unable to reach the parent(s) or guardian(s), we will contact the person listed as the alternate emergency contact. Please keep the contact information (home phone, cell phone or work phone) current on your family account. Sick Children – When to Stay Home

A sick child can infect other participants and staff and runs a greater risk of injury in sport and recreation programs. If your child has any of these symptoms within 24 hours of his/her scheduled program, please keep him/her at home:

  • Fever
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Rash or other skin infection (persistent itching or scratching)
  • Excessive coughing, wheezing or a runny nose with green or yellow mucous
